Bed Bug Birthday Bash

Preparing the house to be fumigated has been like moving, except worse because we had to pack everything up overnight, but before anything could go in bags it had to be put through the dryer for 45 minutes. I dryered 6 or 7 GIANT garbage bags of clothing/linen/towels. Why do we own so much stuff!? Then, on our porch there are another 16 bags of fabric, shoes, backpacks, more linen. Really. REALLY. Why do we own so much stuff? Its okay, we're inspired to purge after this. Winter Yard Sale anyone?

The bags have to stay outside on our deck for at least a week. 3 will be better. Wear as little clothes as possible. I don't even really want to be in the house. I have an active toddler who CANNOT crawl on the floor. oh my. oh my oh my oh my.
Its been interesting. I'm bummed, but not mad, because I don't get angry at situations I can't change, or have no control over.
There is an up side. We are forced to stay out of the house for 24 hours, so I have to spend the night at my sister Morgan's, and Charlotte is visiting from Halifax. Its a surprise party that asks the question: "Do I have to?!" Cake cake cake.

Good Things, Bad Things

We just paid off all our credit card/line of credit debt. Over 4500$. Yesterday Greg gave me his paycheck, and I was going to the bank anyways, for many things. I had so many envelopes to juggle at the ATM. I left the bank a little confused, with a lot of extra cash to divvy up for our budget. I checked all my balances online (because I annoyingly have 3 banks). And then I was sure; no more minuses, and that felt good good good.
6 months ago. I was so overwhelmed by money and debt. We were spending more than we made, and I didn't know where it was going, or what we were buying. Money on cards, is not real to me, and so I don't keep track. By dividing our money out for all our expenses, and paying for things in cash, I started to learn how much we needed for everything, how much to put aside, and then slowly there's started to be more than enough. yay.

On an awful note. We think we may have bed bugs. After I write this I'm going to be heat blasting our linens and clothes and putting them into bags through the night. Happy Holidays? Happy Birthday. Yuck. :(

oh look a mummy and a babe:
