MCH

About a month ago Olive had a tiny surgery on her eye. If you hadn't ever noticed she's had a leaky eye since she was born. Regular eye moisture, not to mention any tears, were draining out instead of down through a blocked duct behind her nose. Its never been painful, but was always really really really goopey. She was a champ, bravely going with the anesthesiologist into the operating room, where daddy and mum were not allowed. Some would have even said she was excited. I am amazed at how trusting she is. Not of strangers, but of us. That we said she would be okay, and that this person who she had never met before would take care of her. I feel very good about that. While she is reserved with strangers, she does seem to be confident that she can rely on her mum and dad, and that what we say is true.I think this is a huge parenting accomplishment, and makes me proud of all three of us, the relationships that we have cultivated amongst ourselves.
